Fall sunshine

Heartwarming is fall sunshine!

People enjoying the gorgeous sunshine at Sheep Meadow garden in Central Park

I dance in the fall sunshine
doodling over my shadow
the tiny me smiles at the big me

I lay still in the fall sunshine
enriching the being in me
letting the positive take over the rest

I dare to dream in the fall sunshine
I dream of all that I want to be
the small, the big, the innocent, the devil

I adore the fall sunshine
a feast for the inner soul
I sit in Sukhasana inhaling-exhaling
enduring, liberating

Red, orange hues is Fall sunshine
spectacular, marvelous, stupendous

Fall sunshine
a time to connect with the world
to celebrate, to cherish
to enjoy till it lasts

In your shadow

image
I behold your myriad hues in my twinkle eyes, as I behold love in my heart!

In your shadow
the squeaky squirrel tip-toes on the fallen leaves
she digs and eats on the seasonal seeds

In your shadow
the tiny, pugnacious hummingbird flickers her wings, trying to stay still
she sings her tuneful whistle to the sky and to the earth

In your shadow
the thin legged grasshopper flies hedge to hedge
often, disguising himself in time to avoid the predator

In your shadow
the red owl sits high-up in the oak tree
he watches the life on earth with his wise big eyes

In your shadow
the wild white fox lives in his warm den
where he eats and sleeps, where he feels safe

In your shadow
man sleeps peacefully in his created mansion
he sails on the sea, climbs up the mountains
he enjoys the sunrise and the sunset, he walks under the blanket of starts
he lives a mighty life

Not often does one get to thank you O’Nature
you are the nurturer, protector, preserver
the guardian angel

Dreamy, rainy Manhattan

Some people feel the rain, others just get wet! I ask you, do you love rain? I adore rain, to me rain symbolizes romance, an expression of love.

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

As rain descends in Manhattan it adorns the city dressing it like an angel. The wet grass, puddles on the road, the smell of rain in the air, grey stormy clouds, everything flawless. Walking around the city in the rain with my camera and an umbrella (to protect me from getting wet) I clicked pictures of the landscape, streets, buildings, gardens and everything interesting. Here are ten pictures of the day.

Do you see what I see?

Choose your path carefully as there are many who will follow your footsteps in the years to come

As I walk on this path filling my lungs with abundant fresh air

I ask myself a question! How many people have taken this path before me

and how many will walk here after I am gone?

The question is simple yet complex, just like life itself!

There are many who have attempted to define life

but we all fall short of words to express the magnitude of challenges life poses to us

Somedays are remarkable and somedays are not so remarkable

Somedays we feel sky is the limit, somedays we feel life is unfair

What matters in the end is the choices we make in our life

The path we choose to conquer the world

Remember every path has a story, every path leaves a trail

This trail will have our footsteps that many generations will embrace

Awestruck by your beauty!

As I walk bare feet on the cool mud, I feel rested, peaceful, in union with the universe

As a child I have spent my days in your company, O’ Nature

my tiny hands playing in the mud all day

as my mother separated us at dusk, tears trickled down my cheeks, but I waited for the next day

As a child I have spent my days in your company, O’ Nature

my tiny feet chasing the colorful butterflies in my garden

I had a desire to touch them, to feel their delicate wings

As a child I have spent my days in your company, O’ Nature

climbing the hills with my dada to see the sunrise

As a child I have always been happy in your company, O’ Nature

I have lived with you, grownup in your shadow

you are my home, your are my destination !

The Sunset

Sunset over the  Hudson River with a view of New Jersey

When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.” ~Mahatma Gandhi

Not everyday one experiences such a beautiful sunset,

Not everyday a beautiful thought crosses one’s mind,

but when it does; ENJOY it!”

Green mirage!

It amuses me how God’s creation is peerless, perfect!

As a current New Yorkery, I feel Central Park East gives a forest like feel. The lush green trees, rocky terran, and meandering water streams. Gorgeous ! Jogging around the path (just following my instinct) listening to the humming of numerous birds in the park I ended up in front of this beautiful view in lthe picture above. I stood there admiring the scene for as long as I could. The reflection of the dense trees in the clear water stream formed a breathtaking mirage as if a painter has worked day and night to create an unrealistic work of art.

O majhi re, apna kinara nadiyan ki dhaara hai

Sunset at Hudson River, New York

Often in life we experience a beautiful setting and how we wish our family and friends were right here living the moment with us. This was one such moment!

The  view reminds me of the famous Bollywood song 🎵 O majhi re, apna kinara nadiyan ki dharra hai. A classic, beautiful song sung by the legend Kishor Kumar.

Picturesque!

The view of George Washington Bridge over Hudson River, New York!

Sunday morning, I woke up to a bright sunny day and a heart- melting  smile from my love. Sunshine, plans to be outdoors. But in a couple of hours it got windy and overcast. I sigh! Good or not so good weather, I and my husband were up for a game of tennis. After a healthy breakfast we were off on our bikes to the River Side Clay courts for an intense serve and volley game. The clay courts by the Hudson River, it’s the most majestic view I have ever seen, experienced, with the convenience to play tennis every single day. It is such a luxury!

On the road, as I pedaled my bicycle, the cold wind pierced my face and my hair were a slight mess. In minutes we were at the courts ready for an hour of tennis. The view of the Hudson was breathtaking, as if straight out of a dream. As I was lost in its beauty I knew I had my click of the day- The George Washington Bridge overlooking the Hudson River with the ships only adding character to my picture.

Cherry blossoms marking the beginning of Spring in NYC

Nature teaches us numerable life leasons, my five mantras are listed below:-

~The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will blossom like flowers -Thich Nath Hanh

~The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare & beautiful of all

~Happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have but rather by recognizing and appreciating what we do have

~And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful then the risk it took to blossom- Anais  Nin

~And in the end its not the years of your life that count its the life in your years
